Dietician practice Nijmegen consists of two dieticians with expertise!

What do we do?

We believe in the effectiveness of specialization, which is why we have chosen to specialize in our practice. Our specialization in low-carbohydrate (ketogenic), intestinal complaints (IBS) and pediatric dietetics provides more depth and quality.

Scientific

A healthy diet must meet several requirements, including scientific approval. We actively work with the latest literature and also ensure that this knowledge is translated into the treatment of you.

Low carbohydrate or ketogenic advice

Carbohydrate restriction means a reduction in carbohydrates in your diet and – depending on your eating style – often an increase in fats. There is now sufficient scientific evidence that fats do not have to raise your cholesterol and fat particles in your blood, but that sugars in excess (fruit juice, candy, biscuits, gingerbread, cornflakes) do for a large group of people. If you eat less sugar, the main fuel in the body will be used up and you will use body fat as new fuel. Very positive, because you just wanted to get rid of those kilos.

Irritable bowel

The diagnosis of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) includes various causes for gastrointestinal complaints in which diet plays a major role. In recent years, good methods have been developed that can tackle these complaints, such as the FODMaP diet, probiotics, elimination diet, gluten-free diet and carbohydrate restriction.

Because the diagnosis encompasses so much, it is examined during the first consultation what causes the complaints and which method is the best approach for improving the stool and/or reducing the complaints. For example, stomach complaints can be a cause of intestinal complaints that are less prominent. Of course we also assess whether there is reason to refer to a general practitioner or specialist..... read more

Food intolerance

Food intolerance or food hypersensitivity is receiving increasing attention in science and in our society. Initially seen as a possible placebo, we now increasingly see a dividing line between food allergy and food intolerance.
With a food allergy, an allergic reaction is caused by which antibodies (IgEs) are produced by the body. These can be measured in the blood. In case of food intolerance these are not present, while there are complaints. Since these complaints do not correspond to the blood results, this can ensure that the diagnosis is often not made. By following certain diets, the complaints can be reduced or even completely gone.

Children and young adults

A simple and clear approach for children with our own experience is our vision to achieve a good nutritional guidance. A healthy weight, proper growth and development is important for children. Finding the right balance between healthy nutrition, growth and needs is not always easy and extra help can provide the insight to achieve this. If there are intestinal complaints, these will be included in the treatment.

What do we do?

We believe in the effectiveness of specialization, which is why we have chosen to specialize in our practice. Our specialization in low-carbohydrate (ketogenic), intestinal complaints (IBS) and pediatric dietetics provides more depth and quality.

Your wishes and needs are central

We take into account your preferences, allergies and lifestyle. Not everyone has the time every day to cook tasty and healthy meals, to do sports or have the finances to purchase expensive diet products. A healthy diet is a difficult concept. What exactly is healthy? This very much depends on the current situation and what suits you best.
