Nutritional advice for children and young people....

Overweight

A healthy weight is important for health, especially for children. Finding the right balance between exercise and nutrition is not always easy and extra help can provide the insight to achieve this. The choices and preferences of the child play an important role and we always take them into account. Of course it is good to try and develop new things, but everything in its time. In consultation and cooperation, choices are made for an improved lifestyle that fits in with the achievement of goals. We believe in a simple approach, which is effective and easy to apply. As a co-parent, we are aware that not everything always works out and time is sometimes limited.

Growth and development

Good growth and development is important for a healthy child and nutrition plays a major role in this. If there is a reason that diet causes an obstacle, we can help with nutrition and lifestyle advice. As a dietitian, we look for advice with our knowledge and experience as a parent that is feasible and applicable. We take the circumstances and environment into account. We offer support with, among other things, underweight, a deviating growth curve or toddler's diarrhea, but also with specific disorders such as reflux, celiac disease, milk allergy or lactose intolerance.

Food allergy and intolerance

Complaints of nutrition are annoying, especially with children because it also affects you as a parent, such as sleep and extra worry. It is sometimes difficult to determine exactly what and where the complaints are, but with the help of a professional, this can be properly examined. We always look beyond the regular approach such as the FODMaP diet, because of our specialization in intestinal complaints, we have the insights to remedy a wider range of complaints. If an allergy (peanut, milk, soy) or intolerance (gluten, histamine, FODMaP) has already been established, we can also help you make the right choices and learn to deal with the new lifestyle. In case of referral or suspicion of IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), we can find out whether food is the cause of the complaints and solve them.
